Duke’s Mayonnaise
One food staple that you can find in any pantry, in any kitchen, located in the American South is Duke's Mayonnaise (lovingly referred to as "Duke's"). Having lived below the Mason-Dixon line for most of my life, I was honored when asked to create this photorealistic digital illustration for The C.F. Sauer Company that would be used on a wide variety of marketing materials and merchandise.
Elevation Advertising, approached me with this assignment during my time there as a Senior Designer, knowing that I had a background in editorial and digital illustration. The client requested a photorealistic rendering of the beloved product but did not want an actual photograph.
Within two days, I was able to recreate a life-like copy of Duke’s Mayonnaise by creating a series of finely illustrated layers that were then blended together using Adobe Illustrator. The client was so pleased with the final image that they used it on several pieces of merchandise that were sold exclusively on the Duke’s Mayonnaise website, including a tea towel and t-shirts.
